- 1986
- My mother's flatmate moved out. I finally had my own room! I slept on a mattress on the floor, but that was quite enough.

- Hong Kong was handed over to China. I was in the choir that performed for British government officials for the last time on June 30. You saw me on TV. I finally had my own air conditioner. No more sleeping up a puddle of sweat every night. The death of Princess Diana was a great shock to me.
